CGA helps businesses and governments solve problems of vital public interest in public sector management, rule of law and citizen security, economic development and trade, and private sector reform and access to finance. A specialized and rapidly growing consulting firm, we are located in Washington D.C., with a number of staff located around the globe. Staff in all locations work together as a team, and often travel on international assignments.

Internship Program


CGA’s internship programs give students from many disciplines and backgrounds the opportunity to get a true feel of what it’s like to work at CGA—and to experience the life of a development consultant.

As a CGA intern, you will be able to apply what you have learned at school and through personal experience to a real client challenge. You will work with and be mentored by CGA consultants, and you will take responsibility for specific components of our activites. This includes carrying out business development activities and undertaking research to assist our consultants and carrying out project activities. Business development activities include drafting expressions of Interest, proposals, drafting capability statements, undertaking institutional research and carrying out market intelligence.

In terms of research activities, you will be asked to carry out both quantitative and qualitative analysis. You will be asked to find data, statistics, develop models and carry out analysis to support some of the recommendations made by our consultants.

Our consultants are encouraged to pursue research projects and to publish interesting findings that enhances our understanding of development issues and challenges. You will likely be asked to assist them in carrying out these knowledge development projects. Administrative work aimed at improving the firm’s day to day operations will also be expected.

CGA internships are generally two to three months long but can vary from a few weeks to a year. Most involve telecommuting. Some interns may travel, including abroad.

If you are selected for our program, we’ll work with you to understand your interests and assign you to a case that aligns with your personal and professional goals.

We accept online applications from exceptional students with a business school, public administration, engineering, science, and humanities students who are nearing the completion of their undergraduate or graduate studies.
